This Week’s Feature: Rainbows for Rachel!

Beautiful Rachel

In February, 8 year-old Rachel Gambrill was diagnosed with a very rare form of brain cancer known as Anaplastic Ganglioglioma.  Since that time, she has already survived 3 major brain surgeries and numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation.  Through it all, her doctors continue to be astounded by how she rallies back after every major treatment/surgery and how she maintains her happy and caring spirit, even taking the time to help organize a walk for the cure!

This Friday, Rachel will be going back into the hospital for yet another major surgery to remove more of the tumor on her brain.  The possible side effects of this surgery are very serious, but Rachel has proven time and again that she has no intention of giving into this cancer without a fight!  She truly is an inspiration and such an amazing young lady!

Please say a prayer for precious Rachel and her mother as they continue to battle, and take the time to share her story with others!  You can follow Rachel’s progress on her Facebook Page and you can learn more on her website, RainbowsforRachel.org.  Rachel is also one of our Operation Smile kids and she would love to receive a card from you as she recovers from the surgery!

Help us keep spreading the word about Rachel and all of our feature kids!

Thank you for this feature callout. For all who are not aware, Rachel has agreed to undergo this surgery AWAKE so that the surgeons can monitor how the procedures are affecting her. Very unusual – and scary – option for an 8 year old. Please send prayers and support!!
