The Sunshine Award

sunshine-awardValerie at Atlantamomofthree nominated this blog for the Sunshine Award.  As this blog originated from the mind of my older son (and many of the projects have been continued on by my daughter), I thought it would be appropriate for them to answer the questions so you can learn a little more about the 5 & 7-year-old minds behind Mikey’s Helping Place.  Thanks, Valerie, for the nomination! And thanks to all of our readers for helping us spread the sunshine! 🙂

National Pancake Day at IHOP

ihopToday is National Pancake Day at IHOP.  Each guest who comes to dine at IHOP will receive a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes and all IHOP asks for in return is that you consider giving a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals or another designated local charity*.

What a great chance to enjoy some yummy pancakes and to give the money that you would have spent on breakfast, lunch or dinner to a wonderful cause!

Since beginning National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has been able to collect over $10 million to numerous charitable entities.

So, if you are in the mood for dining out today, please consider making IHOP your choice and help them continue raising money to help sick children around the world! (Click on link above for more information)

Our First Featured Child of 2013 – Baylee!

Baylee

Baylee

This month’s featured child is 5-year-old, Baylee.

In 2011, Baylee was diagnosed with Isolated NK Cell Deficiency  and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.  As a result of these immune system disorders, she is extremely vulnerable to life-threatening infections.

Despite these tough medical issues, Baylee continues to be a brave and vivacious little girl, who loves doing all of the things that 5-year-old little girls do.

Please pray for Baylee and her family as they work together to help Baylee battle the medical issues that come her way.  And, take the time to visit her Facebook Page to say hello and to learn more about this sweet girl and her progress.

We will be adding Baylee to our next Operation Smile list, but if you would like to get a head start and send her a cheery card now, you can send it to: Miss Baylee Wheeler, 2022 E. 619, Jamestown, KY 42629.

**If you know a child or charity that would like to be featured, please let us know at mikeyandzoe@comcast.net or on our Facebook page**

Wordless Wednesday – Rest In Peace Little Angels

Then the child opened its eyes, and looked up into the angel's beautiful face, which beamed with happiness, and at the same moment they were in heaven, where joy and bliss reigned. The child received wings like the other angel, and they flew about together, hand in hand. ~Hans Christian Anderson
